WORKSHOPS
Lyceum Gallery's Interdisciplinary Discovery is an eight-week course designed to introduce students to a variety of mediums and artistic disciplines. It is perfect for kids with a general interest in art who want to explore new techniques and develop new skills, as well as middle-school-aged children planning on applying to arts-focussed secondary schools who want to prep and round out their portfolios.

The course covers mixed media, collage, basic hard-edge style painting, image transfer methods, and fiber arts. In addition to arts instruction, the students will learn how to assemble a portfolio and prep and display work for exhibition in a gallery setting. The course will culminate in students showcasing their work at an official Lyceum Gallery exhibit*. The goal is to expand interests, build confidence and have fun!
Each session kicks off with a look at examples, some background and a step-by-step instructional on that week’s project. Most of the time is spent working hands-on so students learn by doing, not just watching. Classes are facilitated with two instructors and are capped at 10 students to ensure everyone has access to focussed one-on-one instructor time.
