The Westwood Theatre was built in 1952 in the emerging Six Points area of Etobicoke. It was originally a 1000 seat theatre until the 1970s when it was split into two theatres, and one theatre was split again making a total of three theatres by the early 80s. Due to declining attendance and the land being deemed too valuable for a theatre, the Westwood closed for good in 1998.
